Let’s talk about the team:

The Data Science and AI/ML team collaborates across the organization to identify, develop and deliver Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) powered software solutions that improve patient outcomes, delight our partners and customers, and improve the way we do business in an “AI First” fashion. On any given day, the team could be working on building sophisticated models to delivering personalized recommendations to patients to improve their sleep, identify optimal equipment and settings using our unparalleled store of billion+ nights of sleep data, proactively identify other health risk factors, or help optimize complex, global supply chain operations.

The team works with every major function in the company, including Product Management (PM), Strategy, Finance, Marketing, Manufacturing, Growth, Product Development (PD), Data Platforms (DP), and others. Wherever there is high value to be gained for our patients or customers (external or internal), we employ a rigorous process to develop specific AI/ML driven solutions to realize that value quickly.

Let’s talk about responsibilities:

• Build and deliver AI/ML services to a variety of web and mobile applications that drives positive patient outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with other team members including Data Scientists and Data Engineers to enable faster solution development and deployment. Train and mentor junior team members.
• Build and maintain optimal global AI/ML architectures and provide production support to live AI/ML products.
• Understand model performance and instrument tracking, logging and validation, and ensure fit-for-purpose.
• Thoroughly document the model & ML system design, experiments, tests, validations, and live metrics and outcomes.
• Build best practices within and across the global teams to drive effective outcome and a progressive mindset.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: Automating manual processes, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Actively handle escalated incidents to resolution and suggest solutions to limit future exposure.
• Participate in Code Review and process improvement.

Let’s talk about qualification and experience:

• 5+ years’ experience that focuses on ML production deployment with a Master’s degree in Data Science/Machine Learning, Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar, or 3+ years with a PhD in the above.
• Hands-on experience with building scalable AI/ML systems for continuous training automation, computer vision, natural language processing, recommender system or similarly advanced AI/ML problems.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud-based tools and technologies for data pipelining, model development, deployment, monitoring, and MLOps tools including SageMaker, Airflow, Kubeflow, etc.
• Deep grounding in machine learning techniques including regression methods, classification, performance evaluation, as well as knowledge of unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning and optimization methods.
• Experience with big data tools such as EMR (Elastic MapReduce), Spark or similar.
• Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with developing production-grade Python code.
