Our team

Our team based in Singapore predominately works with Energy, Metals/ Mining and Agricultural traders across the APAC region to help them to deliver, and operational change projects. Our deep content expertise is recognised by our clients and means that they come to us to help them with their most important or challenging projects.

What will you be doing?

You will be part of Baringa’s leadership team in Singapore, building a data delivery capability, growing our business, leading and coaching our people.

You will have the opportunity to use your experience to set up the Data Analytics & AI practice for our Singapore office, bringing the right team and skills to the table for Digital Transformation in the Energy and Commodities Trading sectors, with the support of our established Data Analytics & AI practice in the UK, to provide you some insights and support on scaling the practice locally.

You will define and lead the implementation of our Data Analytics & AI practice in Asia and be responsible for recruiting and training an industry leading data delivery capability that will run data-led transformation initiatives for our clients.

You will be part of the Baringa team working on client engagements in the Energy and Commodities Trading sector driving transformation together. Examples of what you’ll do include:
• Defining and documenting their programme strategy and value drivers
• Undertaking business and data analysis such as capturing use cases, building business cases, and prioritising backlogs
• Acting as a data product owner; leading and running data projects or workstreams using agile, waterfall or hybrid methods
• Providing technical rigour and challenge to designs and proposals
• Developing, designing and/or delivering the data architecture and data solutions in line with the business needs

What are we looking for?

We are seeking individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset and who are passionate, dynamic and data literate. You will be outcome and value focused and will be driven to build a thriving Data Analytics & AI practice in Singapore to help our clients realise their digital transformation objectives.

You are passionate about data, and you have a track record of building and coaching teams that can deliver enterprise scale, data-led transformation projects for our clients.

These are some of the skills that we are looking for:

Experience
• 10+ years of data consulting experience; leading teams and/or workstreams which may be comprised of different parties (Client, Baringa and Contractor) OR
• Held a leadership role with experience in developing and running a Data Analytics & AI practice or scaled delivery team
• Experience in a strategic piece of work, advising on the commercial value and shaping up the roadmap for full delivery lifecycle using different delivery methods, agile, hybrid and waterfall skills
• Excellent stakeholder management skills from explanation of technical content to non-technical stakeholders to articulating the cost and benefits of the data strategy
• Experience in solving complex problems across the data landscape, from data warehousing to insights generation

Knowledge
• Degree in relevant fields such as Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics etc.
• Expertise in a number of the following areas – Data Strategy, Data Science & Engineering, Data Visualisation, Data Management, Data Architecture and Software Development.

Soft Skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ambition to build and manage a data delivery capability team
• Patience in coaching the team at all levels in building up their data skills
• Comfortable with uncertainty, flexibility, and supporting across a range of different internal initiatives in conjunction with primary client project

Desirable skills
• Passion for Energy and Commodities sectors is a plus
• Passion for driving a data-led change in Trading businesses is a plus
• Have experience in delivering data strategy work to Energy and Commodities Trading clients is a bonus
• Prior experience in Management Consulting

Finally, it is highly desirable that candidates have the ability to work in Singapore.
