Machine Learning Research Lab provides AI solutions tailored for eCommerce. In the Language Intelligence product domain, our mission is to ensure that language on international platforms supports effortless shopping and selling. We offer state-of-the-art AI like Semantic Search and Machine Translation, build AI-based automation tools, and deliver scalable translation solutions at Allegro.

Are you passionate about shaping the future of translation and leveraging cutting-edge AI innovations? We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead the Translation Platform engineering team, driving large-scale, high-quality translations to support Allegro’s international expansion. Collaborating with Language and Machine Learning experts, you will work to continuously enhance translation processes, delivering business value for Allegro’s international operations.

We are looking for people who:

• Write code in Kotlin/TypeScript/Java or different high-level programming language
• Are seasoned experts in software development and system architecture
• Take ownership of their team’s development, possess excellent communication skills, and embrace the “servant leadership” approach.
• Effectively manage and build relationships within a team of skilled engineers and across collaborating teams.
• Listen actively, motivate others, provide constructive feedback, and identify appropriate development activities for their team.
• Have experience leading teams using agile methodologies.
• Present technical work clearly, contextualizing it within business risks.
• Can work across disciplines with product, engineering and research.
• Align technical solutions with business objectives to deliver measurable value and excellence.
• Enjoy constant developing,updating and sharing their knowledge
• Know English language on at least B2 level (experience in managing English-speaking team members is a plus)

Additionally, it’s a plus if you have:

• Experience in AI-based solutions development and practical knowledge of ML algorithms
• Experience with Pyton, BigData and GCP

In your daily work you will handle the following tasks:

• Own end-to-end development of the translation platform, including new features and integrations.
• Ensure high-quality, high-volume, and on-time delivery of translations across multiple markets and languages.
• Identify and implement process improvements to optimize translation workflows and platform performance.
• Allocate team resources efficiently based on priorities and ROI.
• Lead the team in an agile environment, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Facilitate close cooperation with cross-functional teams.
• Actively shape the product and its development roadmap in partnership with the Product Manager.
• Support team members’ growth by addressing individual preferences and needs, fostering mastery, autonomy, and alignment with organizational goals.
