About the Job

As the Lead Software Engineer on the team, you will own major roadmap items for our AI-powered talent management product. You will be responsible for investments that span multiple quarters and meaningfully drive the platform forward. You will collaborate closely with other teams – product, design, AI, Platform on these investments.

Responsibilities

• Build the next generation of Talent Management software using cutting-edge technology (e.g., building agentic experiences with LLMs).
• Design and develop major product software features with a focus on quality, performance, design, and reusability.
• Define the roadmap for multi-quarter initiatives involving multiple cross functional teams.
• Write clean, scalable and performant code.
• Identify and advocate for improvements to the technical foundation and architecture.
• Prototype new ideas and collaborate to define the roadmap for taking them to production.
• Raise the bar for the team on technical designs and decisions.
• Mentor and coach lead engineers on the team.
• Work with engineering and product leadership on strategy and roadmap.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in AI-assisted product development.
• Handle enterprise customer escalation issues as needed.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred.
• 6-10+ years of hands-on experience in building and scaling user-facing products, preferably in the SaaS domain.
• Experience leading multi-quarter initiatives involving multiple cross functional teams.
• Ability to write clean, scalable, and performant code.
• Strong understanding of scalability, reliability, and performance optimization
• Proficient in data storage platforms (SQL, NoSQL), distributed systems, and analytics.
• Experience with search platforms (Solr, Lucene) and AI platforms is preferred.
• Ability to weigh pros and cons of different approaches and make judgment calls.
• Ability to collaborate across functional and organizational boundaries.
• Proven ability to mentor and coach experienced engineers.

• Data & Infrastructure: MySQL, Solr, Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Docker.
• Cloud Services: Major AWS services like Aurora, S3, Redshift, Cloudformation, SNS, SQS.
• AI & ML: Extensive use of ML models and LLMs.

Pay Transparency

Please note this role is categorized as onsite or hybrid in Santa Clara, CA The base salary ranges below are provided for pay transparency. Base pay is only one piece of our total compensation package as this role may be eligible for bonus and equity awards. Compensation varies depending on a number of factors including qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and zone. Zones are determined by location. Zone A is in SF Bay Area, CA .

Zone A Base annual salary range: $178,000 to 210,000 + discretionary bonus up to 15% + preIPO equity (stock options).
