The Team You Will Join

MetLife Data & Analytics organization is the team of expert analysts and technologists responsible for building big data platforms and data services with innovative technologies to enable MetLife businesses to generate insights and value for their customers. The team is the center of excellence in data architecture, analysis, and engineering at MetLife. It plays a crucial role in data enablement through multiple data stores, supporting analytical use cases to derive predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive insights and AI-based automation.

The Opportunity

The AI Program Manager will lead the execution of end-to-end data & AI solutions for key insurance business functions such as claims service & operations, customer acquisition, customer engagement & retention, investments, marketing, risk management, and underwriting. The role will include collaborating with partners from business, operations, technology, and risk management functions to manage and drive scalable and responsible AI data solutions.

How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)

• Lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of AI programs that drive transformation within the company.
• Serve as the primary communication lead, articulating program vision and progress to all stakeholders, including executive leadership.
• Build and oversee a robust Agile Program management to ensure seamless operation and alignment of large-scale projects.
• Facilitating PI planning, backlog refinement, and iteration planning.
• Ensure effective execution of program increments and adherence to Agile principles and practices. Facilitating key ceremonies like PI planning and Scrum of Scrums.
• Identifying and resolving dependencies, risks, and impediments impacting train delivery through servant leadership and influencing skills.
• Drive change management processes, ensuring smooth transitions and adopting new AI-driven solutions across the organization.
• Manage risk and resolve issues that affect program scope, quality, and schedule.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Enabling teams through coaching and mentoring. Promoting an Agile mindset focused on innovation and learning.

What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
• At least seven years of experience as an RTE senior program manager, with a significant focus on managing large, transformational initiatives in data and AI using SAFe Principles.
• A total of 12+ years of experience in software delivery and data transformation programs.
• Strong background in driving AI initiatives, including work on data platforms, AI automation, and Analytics programs.
• Demonstrated excellence in communication and stakeholder management.
• Proven ability to stand up and lead large programs from inception to completion.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in building and guiding diverse teams.
• Deep understanding of AI technologies and their application in the insurance industry.
• Strong SAFe expertise and Agile experience. Knowledge of CI/CD, testing, metrics, project management, and technical collaboration.
• Ability to secure buy-in from diverse stakeholders and influence without authority.
• Drive to continuously improve, foster an Agile mindset, and promote a culture of learning.

What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)

• Suggested 15+ years of experience in program management
• Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
• Ability to collaborate and brainstorm in a team environment and holistically manage challenges.
• Insurance domain knowledge.
• Experience working with various vendors, building tier-1 partnerships, establishing user forums, training, and roadmap sessions.
