The work

As a data & AI senior manager specializing in the resources industry, you will play a pivotal role in crafting and executing data-driven strategies tailored to the specific needs of utilities, grid operators, oils & gas, and chemical and energy companies. Your mission will be to harness the power of data & AI to accelerate the energy transition, optimize grid operations, and tackle challenges such as grid congestion. In addition to leading strategic initiatives and fostering innovation within the data & AI domain, you will leverage your sales acumen to identify and capitalize on opportunities for business growth within the energy sector.

People

• Lead and mentor teams on AI best practices, analytics, and innovation assignments within the energy sector, utilizing your expertise to address industry-specific challenges and drive progress towards sustainable energy goals.
• Collaborate with clients to shape and propose data-driven solutions aimed at optimizing grid operations, enhancing energy efficiency, and facilitating the integration of renewable energy sources.
• Act as a catalyst for change, guiding organizations through the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and innovative approaches to achieve their energy transition objectives.

Processes

• Cultivate and maintain client relationships within the energy sector, positioning our company as a trusted partner in driving sustainable energy transformation.
• Develop new client opportunities with resources account teams.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to develop and deliver tailored solutions that address the unique challenges and opportunities of each client.

Technology and Data

• Dive deep into energy data to uncover valuable insights and trends that can inform strategic decision-making and drive operational excellence.
• Champion Responsible AI practices and ethical data usage to ensure that data-driven solutions contribute positively to both business outcomes and societal well-being.

Experience with (Generative) AI and other advanced technologies will be highly advantageous, empowering you to unlock new possibilities and drive meaningful impact in your role as the resources go-to-market lead for the data & AI team.

Here’s what you’ll need

• Master’s degree (WO) in Business Information Management, Business Analytics, Business Administration/Economics, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Fluent in Dutch (B2) and English (C1), both spoken and written.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a consulting capacity or project management role, with a focus on data-driven solutions.
• Strong understanding of data & AI technologies and their applications within the energy sector.
• Proven track record of success in sales or business development roles, with experience shaping and selling projects to clients in the energy industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Bonus points to have

• Developing and executing data & AI strategies to achieve strategic business objectives in the energy sector.
• Implementing data & AI best practices and solutions within the energy industry for process optimization and innovation.
• Working with new technologies such as Generative AI to address complex energy challenges.
• Leading and managing multidisciplinary teams, with a focus on driving sustainable growth and innovation.
