Position Summary:

The Sr. Manager, GBS AI Solutions will play a key leadership, dynamic, strategic and creative role, in creating the vision and driving the execution of the AI strategy globally across GBS Shared Services workstreams including R2R, P2P, O2C and Customer Care. This is a hands-on role that will be a key player in defining and driving innovative projects across shared services using generative AI, Large Language Models (LLM), and Machine Learning. This role will work closely with various customers to introduce and adopt these advanced technologies and enable teams to take their processes to the next level. The Sr. Manager, AI Solutions will partner with a range of team members including, GBS Shared Services Operations, Automation, IT, and PPI.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Provide transformational leadership to the AI Solutions team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Present and articulate AI solutions to leadership with superb story telling narrative in a clear and compelling manner.
• Use Case Identification: Work closely with various workstreams (including R2R, P2P, O2C and Customer Care) and partners to identify and scope potential use cases for Generative AI within GBS Shared Services.
• Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for generative AI solutions, aligning it with the GBS Shared Services overall goals and objectives.
• Monitoring Ongoing Research: Stay actively engaged in monitoring ongoing research efforts, keeping abreast of emerging trends, and ensuring that the Generative AI team remains at the forefront of the field. Lead and participate in research activities to explore and advance innovative generative AI techniques, including GANs, VAEs, and other relevant technologies.
• Customer Engagement: Work closely with business partners across GBS to drive the adoption of generative AI, finding opportunities for innovation and value creation. Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical partners, effectively communicating complex AI concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
• Quality Control: Ensure the quality and performance of AI models, conducting rigorous testing and evaluation.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor or master’s equivalent experience in a relevant field (Computer Science, Machine Learning, etc.).
• 10-12 years of work experience with 8+ years experience in Machine Learning, delivering complex solutions to production.
• Proven hands-on experience in data science and Natural Language Processing (NLP), Natural Language Understanding (NLU) and Natural Language Generation (NLG).
• Experienced senior data scientist/AI Architect
• Experience within a shared services environment or in a consulting capacity is desired
• Prior experience with Finance areas including R2R, P2P or O2C is a plus
• Proven ability to interact with multiple levels of leadership both internally and externally, and influence peers and senior management in a complex, geographically dispersed matrix organization
• Self-directed, dynamic and customer-centric change-agent who thrives in a challenging and changing environment
• Highly collaborative; aligns effectively with colleagues and business partners to deliver results while enhancing the success of all contributors
• Skilled communicator and proven relationship builder, able to operate within a multitude of formal and informal networks while managing the competing interests of varied customers
• Champions productivity improvements through Practical Process Improvement (PPI) and has a commitment to continuous learning
• Excellent attention to detail required
• Eye for business to develop effective partnerships with key partners and provide a strategic perspective in discussions and communications; including framing the needs of Finance and Groups in context of the larger Thermo Fisher organization
