About the Team

With eight specialized departments, the engineering team functions as a highly collaborative, diverse powerhouse. Each department mission is to deliver seamless and innovative communication solutions. These range from software development and machine learning to quality assurance teams that work to create and maintain Zoom’s user-friendly interfaces and robust infrastructure. The team continues to push the boundaries of communication technology, bringing people together regardless of their physical distance.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and evaluating algorithms and methodologies in your chosen focus area.
• Conduct experiments, analyze results, and iterate on models to optimize performance.
• Working closely with researchers and engineers to integrate your work into broader projects.
• Participate in team meetings, code reviews, and research discussions.
• Documenting your research, methodologies, and findings.
• Present your work to the team, contribute to internal reports, and potentially collaborate on publications.
• Staying updated with the latest research trends and technologies in generative AI.
• Propose and experiment with new ideas that can propel Zoom’s AI capabilities forward.

What we’re looking for

• Busy completing Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Have a solid foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP) or computer vision, depending on your focus area.
• Possess hands-on experience with relevant frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Demonstrate track record in academic research, demonstrated through publications or impactful projects.
• Possess experience in experiment design, data analysis, and model evaluation.
• Able to clearly document and articulate research findings.

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Minimum:
$22.25

Maximum:
$74.00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations.
