Team Introduction
The success of data business model hinges on the supply of a large volume of high quality labeled data that will grow exponentially as our business scales up. However, the current cost of data labeling is excessively high. The Data Solutions team is built to understand data strategically at scale for all Global Business Solution (GBS) business needs. Data Solutions Team uses quantitative and qualitative data to guide and uncover insights, turning our findings into real products to power exponential growth. Data Solutions Team responsibility includes infrastructure construction, recognition capabilities management, global labeling delivery management.

We are looking for generalists and specialists in AI/ML techniques, including computer vision (CV), natural language processing (NLP), and audio signal processing. You will be responsible for partnering with a variety of stakeholders (product, operations, policy, and engineering) and developing state-of-the-art models

Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths. A vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops will be available for you to explore. Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. This Internship Program runs for 12 weeks beginning in May/June 2025. Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following summer internship start dates below:
Monday, May 12
Monday, May 19
Tuesday May 27 (Memorial Day May 26)
Monday, June 9
Monday, June 23

We will prioritize candidates who are able to commit to these start dates. Please state your availability clearly in your resume (Start date, End date).

Candidates can apply to a maximum of two positions and will be considered for jobs in the order you apply. The application limit is applicable to TikTok and its affiliates’ jobs globally. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis – we encourage you to apply early.

Responsibilities:
– Design and build core capabilities by leveraging content understanding capabilities, such as natural language processing, machine learning, or computer vision, to extract insights and improve monetization strategies.
– Develop creative solutions and build prototypes for business problems using algorithms based on the latest deep learning, machine learning, statistics, and optimization techniques.
– Independently manage data projects from 0 to 1, and collaborate with product managers to define user stories, and success metrics to guide the development process.
– Verify the business value and estimated revenue of the project using methods such as AB testing.
– Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy and scale data science solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
– Currently pursuing a (BS/MS/MBA/PhD) in quantitative fields such as Computer Science, Machine Learning or related technical disciplines.
– Able to commit to working for 12-24 weeks during the Summer of 2025.
– Solid knowledge and hands-on experiment in at least one of the following areas: machine learning, large language models, NLP, multi-modal models, and data mining.
– Fluency in SQL, Hive, Presto, or Spark and having experience working with large datasets.

Preferred Qualifications:
– Clear understanding of data pipeline, model development, model testing and deployment.
– Experience in CI/CD such as git and cloud services such as AWS/GCP/Azure will be highly desirable.
– Good communications skills; able to communicate analytical and technical content in an easy to understand way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
– Intellectual curiosity, along with excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills, including the ability to desegregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions.
