In terms of languages, we speak a little bit of everything – Swift 5/Swift UI, Kotlin, Java, TypeScript, Javascript, Ruby, Vue.js, React, Brightscript, GraphQL on AWS container-based and serverless stacks.

We try to expose early career engineers to a wide range of projects, to help them get a sense for where their interests lie. We then pair them with a range of senior engineers so that they can learn from a mix of experiences. Attributes we look for in all our hires across the team are ownership and leadership, proactively taking ownership, having a bias for action, curious and always asking why.

Role Requirements

• Proficiency in operating machine learning solutions at scale, covering the end-to-end ML workflow
• good knowledge of ML tools and frameworks (TensorFlow, Keras, pyTorch, scikit-learn, Spark, …)
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Scala

• Strong understanding of modern ML approaches (GBDT, CNN, LSTM, GRU, HRNN, transformers, siamese neural networks, variational auto-encoders, …)
• Experience with at least one of Deep Learning, LLMs, Reinforcement Learning, Causal Inference
• Familiarity with real-world ML systems (configuration, data collection, data verification, feature extraction, resource and process management, analytics, training, serving, validation, experimentation, monitoring)
• Understanding of batch and streaming data processing techniques
• Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud platforms

Project Assignments

You will work with data scientists and ML engineers in solving some of the most challenging and interesting problems like automated transcriptioning, ML assisted ad marker generation, automated IAB taxonomy generation, etc using Data pipelines, EDA, Deep Learning and Machine Learning models and so much more. Individuals joining the program will gain exceptional experience building world-class, innovative consumer facing products and features, for globally recognized entertainment brands, consumed by millions of super-fans across the globe, using the newest technologies and methodologies.

Tech Speaker Series

As part of the program we’ve created a tech speaker series where you’ll frequently learn about new technologies and trends, as well as meet and learn from some of the most talented technologists in the industry, both internal and external to WBD.

Social Events

Exciting social events in order to build relationships with fellow Global Tech Interns and other technologists at WBD.

Career Coaching

In addition to developing strong tech chops, you’ll likely need to also hone ‘soft skills’ to excel. During the program you’ll receive tailored career advice and guidance from experienced engineers, and leaders who have been where you are, and will share useful tips and insights into how they have successfully navigated their careers.

Global Exposure

Most of our teams and products have global impact, meaning often our teams are working on projects that impact multiple markets. This provides you with unique insight into solving problems at scale, the nuances between markets and how we leverage technology to provide seamless and consistent quality across our customer experience globally.

Global Network

By the end of the program you’ll have built a global network of talented Engineers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, Product Designers, Marketeers and business leaders. You’ll also have an extensive network of peers with whom you will have built great relationships! It’s a small industry and the network you build, and the impression you make during the program will be invaluable throughout your career.

While this is a yearlong internship, we see this as the start of a long-term relationship. Many of our current employees are prior interns and for developers early in their career global impact and gaining international experience.
