Job Description: As the Head of Applied AI, you will spearhead the application of cutting-edge AI technologies to solve complex business challenges across ST Engineering’s global operations. This pivotal role involves leading a team of talented AI engineers, fostering collaboration with diverse stakeholders, and ensuring seamless integration of AI solutions into our products and services. We’re seeking a hands-on leader who can not only guide strategy and manage teams but also dive deep into technical challenges when needed. You’ll be expected to lead by example, stepping in to write code and solve particularly complex technical problems alongside your team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and deployment of AI solutions across various business units.
• Oversee the implementation of AI models, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and deliver measurable impact.
• Ensure the continuous improvement and optimization of deployed AI solutions.
• Drive the integration of AI solutions into existing systems and processes, ensuring seamless operation.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and drive the adoption of best practices and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI applications and define project requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including academic and research institutions.
• Communicate AI strategies and project outcomes to senior leadership and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in developing, deploying, and scaling AI solutions in enterprise environments, with hands-on knowledge of CI/CD practices, RPA, version control, and other relevant technologies.
• Strong technical skills in machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and related AI technologies.
• Proficiency in production-level Python, and familiarity with frameworks like PyTorch, etc.
• Experience in working with large datasets and big data technologies.
• Experience in connecting multiple systems into one cohesive solution (e.g. monitoring, alerts, reporting, and DB and ML pipelines).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business needs into AI solutions.
• Ability to break down complex projects into smaller deliverables, timelines, milestones, and assign these components throughout the team.
• Demonstrated ability to independently scope complex projects, proactively identify and solve problems, and drive initiatives to completion.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with Multimodal LLMs and Computer Vision is a plus.
