What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted system performance, meeting stringent SLAs, and driving operational excellence.

• Platform Management: Oversee the administration and optimization of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and data engineering platforms (e.g., Databricks) to support data pipelines and ML workloads.
• Ensure system uptime and performance: Monitor system health, proactively identify and resolve issues, and implement measures to prevent outages.
• Meet SLAs: Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure system performance against SLAs and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Incident management: Develop and perform incident response plans, coordinate cross-functional teams during incidents, and conduct post-incident reviews.
• Capacity planning: Proactively assess system capacity, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement scaling strategies.
• Continuous improvement: Find opportunities to optimize system performance, reduce costs, and enhance reliability.

What we expect of you

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Platform and Operational Lead to oversee platform administration, the smooth running of our software and data pipelines.

Basic Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in computer science/engineering preferred and 6+ years experience OR,
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering preferred and 8+ years experience.
• Consistent track record in handling production environments and ensuring system reliability.
• Strong understanding of IT operations, including monitoring, alerting, and incident management.
• Experience with data pipelines and software applications.
• Ability to analyze system performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cloud Platforms: In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their services for compute, storage, and networking.
• Data Engineering: Proficiency in data engineering tools and technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, SQL).
• Machine Learning: Understanding of ML concepts, pipelines, and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLflow).
• DevOps: Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Monitoring and Alerting: Expertise in monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and alert management.

Professional Certifications:

• Cloud Computing certificate preferred

• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with global, remote teams
• High degree of initiative and self-motivation.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities successfully.
