The Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) team is seeking a high-energy, experienced individual with a strong background in software engineering, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to support the Applied AI team and product portfolio. What You Will Be Doing:
• Developing technologies and products that utilize Artificial Intelligence to solve complex problems and field innovative solutions
• Engaging in every phase of the system development lifecycle, including:
• Requirements generation
• System and software design
• Implementation
• Integration
• Flight test
• Applying current AI paradigms, such as:
• Computer vision
• Deep learning
• Reinforcement learning
• Participating in low TRL research, proof of concepts, development of prototypes, building demonstrators, and transition to production
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to rapidly iterate and mature solutions from prototypes to deployment
• Mentoring junior engineers and assuming technical lead responsibilities as needed
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain expertise in AI and machine learning technologies
• Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet those needs
• Work closely with the Applied AI team to develop and implement AI solutions
• Participate in the development of proposals and whitepapers to secure funding for AI research and development projects
• Engage with other Lockheed Martin teams to identify opportunities for AI adoption and application

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other related discipline or experience in leu of degree.
• Experience developing with machine learning frameworks (Pytorch, Tensorflow, MxNet, Caffe, Keras, etc.)
• Experience with Python and multiple libraries (NumPy, OpenCV, Scikit, Pandas, SciPy, etc.)
• Experience with large dataset analysis and visualization
• Understanding of software engineering best practices.
• Proficiency in Python and C++
• Active US DoD security clearance
• Must be a US Citizen
Desired skills
• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related discipline with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence
• Experience with Linux application development
• Experience with DevOps tools: Docker, Git [GitLab, GitHub], Continuous Integration [CI], Continuous Deployment [CD], unit testing frameworks (e.g., Pytest, Unittest)
• Experience with training deep neural networks and other AI algorithms
• Experience with C++, Java, and other compiled languages
• Experience with modern Computer Vision
• Experience with RF signal processing
• Experience with analog and digital signal processing
• Experience working on radar systems, antennas, and arrays
• Familiarity with high-performance computing
• Familiarity with network/messaging (UDP, ZeroMQ, RESTful API, etc.)
• Familiarity interfacing with databases (SQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Familiarity with software defined radios
• Active US DoD security clearance

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $100,900 – $193,300. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $116,000 – $218,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
