JOB DETAILS:

• Location: San Jose, CA

• Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), either in a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term.

• Duration: May 27, 2025 to August 8, 2025 or June 23, 2025 to September 12, 2025

• Innovative Research: Work on groundbreaking projects and collaborate with a team of highly skilled industry specialists.

• Optimize AI Models: Leverage quantization, sparsity, and architecture search methods to optimize and enhance the performance, efficiency, and accuracy of Generative AI models. Unlock the full potential of AI technology and enable groundbreaking solutions.

• Research, design, and implement novel methods for efficient Generative AI

• Algorithmic model optimization methods design including quantization, sparsity, NAS, etc

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking highly motivated individuals who enjoy working on exciting projects, are curious about AI models and will help us in optimizing, accelerating, and applying them.

• You are currently enrolled in a US based University in a PhD or Master’s program in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.

• If you have knowledge/experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply –

• Project experience on generative tasks. Familiar with deep learning frameworks, e.g., Pytorch/ONNX/TensorFlow

• Project experiences on model compression, quantization, and end-to-end inference optimization

• Strong knowledge of artificial intelligence, deep learning or machine learning

• Strong coding skills in Python required, C/C++ skills a plus

• Skilled in academic paper writing and technical innovation

• Additional plus if recent publications include conferences such as NeuRIPS, CVPR, ECCV/ICCV, ICML, ICLR, etc

• Skills related to LLMs, stable diffusion, NeRF, or text-to-video generation is a plus

• Experience in optimizing and accelerating NLP/Generative AI models is a plus.

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
