Job Summary
As a technical member of the Platform Test Engineering team, you will work as part of the team responsible to develop the test and deliver AI based workflows & tools which can help faster software validation, testing and automation of Platform software and Firmware. As part of the Research and Development function, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. This position requires and individual who is creative, self-motivated, team-oriented, technology savvy, and driven to produce results for the NetApp business.
Job Requirements
• Must have strong background in Linux Operating systems Internals and X86 based device drivers (eg: I2C, PCIe, SAS & SATA, NVMe, USB, GPIO, IPMI, BMC, BIOS & Boot Loader, SPI, NOR / NAND Flash etc.)
• Must have hands-on knowledge in Firmware and microcontrollers specific testing
• Must have Computer hardware and architecture knowledge, including processor, memory, motherboard and I/O subsystem and understanding of concepts related to data structures and standard programming practice
• Must have a strong background in designing and implementing machine learning models and algorithms, with a focus on artificial intelligence (Gen AI, LLM) based applications & tools to improve developers and testers productivity (eg: auto unit test, auto test case generation, auto scripting, auto log triage etc.)
• Must have strong experience in tools design, develop, and maintain platforms for creating, training, and deploying AI/ML models
• Must have proficiency in Python and familiarity with libraries such as Langchain, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras etc
• Good to have experience in UI and web development frameworks (eg: Django, Flask, etc.)
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to develop innovative AI solutions
• Stay up-to-date with the latest AI/ML technologies and research and apply this knowledge to our projects
• Strong communication, presentation, leadership and follow-up skills
• Ability to own and drive a task to its completion
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members
• Strong aptitude for learning new technologies
• Ability to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation
• Excellent team player. Ability to interact with cross-functional teams
Education
• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
• A Bachelor or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.
• Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks.
