Software Engineer III, Vertex AI Platform Full-time

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 1 year of experience with AI/ML algorithms and tools (e.g., TensorFlow), deep learning, or natural language processing.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

The Vertex AI Platform team is introducing cutting edge AI/ML capabilities (including GenAI) to Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) Platform to make it super reliable, performant, cost effective, and simple for GDC customers. As part of this team, you will focus on bringing the best of Google’s machine learning investments to Vertex to provide the machine learning infrastructure, tools, and services that power GDC features.

Responsibilities

• Enable GenAI capabilities on Kubernetes so they can run on Google Distributed Cloud.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as GKE, TensorFlow, Research and Machine Intelligence, and sister teams in Cloud AI in order to use their technology.
• Build highly available, low latency systems.
• Implement robust testing and validation processes to ensure consistent, reliable production services.
• Work with external customers to understand their requirements, onboard them, and help with load tests, bugs, and questions.
