Software Engineer II, On-Device Machine Learning, Chrome OS Full-time

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C , Java, JavaScript).
• 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in building machine learning infrastructure that serves models on-device.
• Experience in on-device system development (Linux/Android) and familiarity with operating systems.
• Knowledge of advanced AI models (LLM, image/video generation) design/implementation and their application to real-world problems.

Responsibilities

• Build On-Device Machine Learning (ODML) infrastructure for Chrome OS.
• Adapt models for ODML (e.g., computational graph, quantization).
• Create model serving infrastructure for latest models.
• Perform Trust and Safety analysis, Orchestrate quality tests and benchmark model’s performance.
• Customize models for different applications such as Low Rank Adaptation (LoRA) training.
