Your Impact: As a Senior Staff ML Engineer, you exert influence and set the direction across multiple teams within your department. Your strategic vision shapes the development and integration of machine learning technologies and methodologies, promoting best practices and fostering innovation. You mentor other engineers, ensuring the cultivation of strong technical skills and leadership qualities within the team. Your role focuses on guiding your department’s overarching technical goals, ensuring their alignment with the broader organizational objectives.

What You’ll Achieve (Performance Outcomes):

As a Senior Staff ML Engineer, you will extend the impact of machine learning solutions across multiple teams within your department. Your responsibilities include developing strategic ML initiatives that align with organizational goals and driving innovation in complex business scenarios. You will oversee the design and implementation of advanced ML systems that enhance product offerings and hold up the quality bar across the department. It is also critical that all ML efforts within the same department are aligned on effort/impact and knowledge sharing to get the best out of the department. Key outcomes include:

• Orchestrating department-wide adoption of advanced machine learning techniques and frameworks.
• Spearheading high-impact projects that leverage ML to open new markets and enhance EvolutionIQ’s competitive edge.
• Facilitating collaboration among different teams to ensure the seamless integration of ML technologies into various product lines, in a way to allow fast iteration between teams.
• Guiding the development of scalable and robust ML architectures that serve as the backbone for multiple product applications.
• Cultivating a culture of continuous learning and adaptation in the face of evolving ML technologies and market demands.

About You (Key Competencies):

• 10+ years of experience as an ML Engineer / Data Scientist preferably in SaaS environments
• You know the critical questions to ask in order to understand a client’s business problem, translating them to learning problems amenable to ML solutions, and showing the business impact of technical solutions
• You have crisp written and verbal communication skills
• You have experience with modeling dynamic, time aware systems and time series forecasting
• You have deep exposure to ML tech stack (Sklearn, Keras/TensorFlow, Pytorch, tuning frameworks, data modeling, Python/Pandas data frameworks, and scalable technical concepts/solutions) as well as analytical & statistical modeling skills (non-parametric prediction, unsupervised learning, measuring uncertainty & statistical inference)
• You are engaged in the open-source community with public libraries implementing ML algorithms / frameworks or can point to contributions in the community.

Even Better if You Have:

• You have formal training in a variety of statistical learning algorithms.
• You have 5+ years experience in deploying ML systems on GCP or AWS
• Owned, deployed and maintained model serving pipelines in production
• Creativity and resourcefulness with an appetite to solve previously unsolved problems
• Ambitious, collaborative, and empathetic values
• Experience with probabilistic programming

• Compensation: the compensation range for this role is 250-275K (with flexibility), as well as meaningful equity plan offered (stock options).
