Senior Staff Engineer AI Methodology for R&D (f/m/div) Full-time

In your new role you will:

• Understand the semiconductor development process and identify automation potential for the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI)methodology, by conducting discussions with internal customers.
• Define and develop AI based methodologies in cooperation with internal experts as well as with universities.
• Implement tool-flows to enable the development engineers to make use of AI in their daily work without the need to become AI experts.
• Taking care for high quality of deliverables by actively testing and validating.
• Document the implemented tools.
• Support development engineers by the first use of ML methodology.

You are fully committed to making product development processes more efficient without making compromises on quality. You are open-minded and courageous to try new ideas and yet have a high practical sense in proposing new solutions, which you communicate in a clear and effective way. You have knowledge from multiple disciplines and are permanently connected to the latest technology developments.
You are best equipped for this task if you have:

• A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree.
• Very solid knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML) with hands-one experience (5 years). Experience with Reinforcement Learning and optimization problems (e.g. layout optimization) is appreciated.
• Very solid knowledge of Electronic circuits, electro-mechanical systems and physics in general
• Excellent Programming skills in Matlab/Simulink, Python, C, C++, Java, Java script.
• Ability to discuss efficiently and understand the needs of our internal customers, who have quite diverse scientific backgrounds and work in different functions (designers, verification engineers, application engineers, technology developers, etc.)
• Independent working style and at the same time as a team player have the ability to work on quite different tasks within the scope of Artificial Intelligence.
• Be a very fast learner in the emerging fields of AI-based digitalization and automation
• Very good command of English language (German is also appreciated).
