Senior Software Engineer, Vertex AI Platform Full-time

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience with AI/ML algorithms and tools, deep learning, or natural language processing.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

The Vertex AI Platform team is introducing cutting edge AI/ML capabilities, including Generative AI to Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) Platform to make it super reliable, performant, cost effective, and simple for GDC customers.

In this role, you will focus on bringing the machine learning investments to Vertex to provide the machine learning infrastructure, tools, and services that power GDC features.

Responsibilities

• Enable Generative AI capabilities on Kubernetes so they can run on Google Distributed Cloud.
• Collaborate with internal teams such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), TensorFlow, Research and Machine Intelligence, and Sister teams in Cloud AI in order to use their technology.
• Implement robust testing and validation processes to ensure consistent, reliable production services.
• Work with external customers to understand their requirements, onboard them, and help with load tests, bugs, and questions.
• Build low latency systems.
