Senior Software Engineer, Search UI and AI Infrastructure Full-time

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience in the Java and C programming language.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Experience with server and client performance optimizations and infrastructure supporting high-traffic, complex applications.
• Strong knowledge of browser rendering life-cycles, performance tuning, and infrastructure optimization.
• Familiarity with Chrome DevTools and related web technologies for UI rendering.
• Proven track record of technical leadership and ownership in complex engineering projects.
• Enthusiasm for Generative AI and LLMs, prompt engineering, and building applications on top of LLMs.

In this role, you will support Search UI infrastructure, enabling Search front-end developers to build and launch new functionality both within our current system as well as the next-generation system we are building.

Responsibilities

• Own all aspects of your immediate area of software engineering work, from conception to design, implementation, and deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to scope problems, research potential solutions and technologies, and recommend solutions that balance short-term needs with long-term goals.
• Design and develop full-stack solutions.
• Drive complex projects from inception through execution, demonstrating technical leadership and development.
• Act as a point of contact for your team and contribute to setting technical direction and priorities.
