Huawei’s Munich Research Center is responsible for advanced technology research, architectural development, design and strategic engineering of our products.

We are currently looking for a Senior Researcher on Large Scale AI Infrastructure (m/f/d) to implement digitalization tools and methods into the product development, who will act as a leading expert and technical director, lead the team to build industrial 4.0-oriented digital designs and architectures, and support the company’s strategic goals of the digital transformation.

Your mission

• Conduct advanced research on the reliability and efficiency of large-scale AI infrastructure
• Develop and implement simulation models for GPU computation and network topologies
• Analyze and enhance the robustness and performance of AI systems on a large scale
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into practical applications
• Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals
• Mentor junior researchers and make contributions to the development of the research team

Your areas of expertise

• Successfully completed Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a relevant engineering majors
• Extensive experience in research in high-performance computing, preferably in heterogeneous computing with GPUs/TPUs/NPUs.
• Solid background in modeling/simulation of GPU computation in large scale infrastructures
• Hands-on experiences with tools such as Slurm, Ray, HTCondor etc., would be plus
• Excellent knowledge of AI and machine learning principles, preferably LLM
• Proven track of publication records in top-tier conferences and journals
• Strong programming skills such as Python, C++ , and experience with deep learning frameworks
• Excellent communication, problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent knowledge of English, both written and verbal
