Department Overview Business Support Development Department (BSD) is positioned that provides comprehensive support for various business operations within Rakuten Group. Our department plans, develops, and implements data and AI product solutions for Rakuten Commerce & Marketing Company. Through our technology and expertise, we empower businesses to utilize data and AI.

Position Details

We are responsible for the following areas in Rakuten Ichiba, the driving force behind Rakuten Group.
• Development and operation of data warehouse
• Planning, development, and operation of data products
• Data integration API platform
• Data extraction tools for business staff
• Real-time data platform planning, development, and operation
• Business staff support using AI
• Improving Rakuten Ichiba Services using AI

Working together with user departments, you will gain a deep understanding of business operation processes, analyze and identify issues and needs, incorporate them into specifications, and lead the project from development to operation.

Position Responsibilities

• Formulate vision and strategy for products and services utilizing data
• Communicate with stakeholders(user departments, data science team, engineering team)
• Analyze and identify issues and needs
• Develop a roadmap for the project
• Manage overall project schedule, progress, tasks, and issues
• Coordination and consensus building with multiple stakeholders
• Appropriate reporting to decision makers

Mandatory Qualifications:

– About 5 years of experience as a product manager

– Experience in managing products and services related to data and AI

– Leadership, initiative, and similar experience

– Analytical and problem-solving skills

– Effective communication skills for internal and external stakeholders

– Negotiation skills to build consensus with stakeholders

– Japanese language skills (Native level reading, writing, and speaking)

Desired Qualifications:

– Experience in process improvement and business improvement

– Knowledge, utilization, and implementation experience of DMBOK

– Experience in managing an organization of 10 or more people
