TEAM

Enterprise AI provides a seamless end-to-end machine learning tooling experience, catering to and expediting the development of machine learning projects, such as autonomous driving, smart city, and others.

As part of Enterprise AI, the AI Solutions team provides hands-on support to customers of the Toyota Group and related companies in solving the challenges they face in developing machine learning models, using the products developed by the Enterprise AI team. The AI Solutions team deepens our engagement with customers and improves their overall user experience.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer on the Enterprise AI Solutions team, you’ll play a key role in developing diverse machine learning models, tackling challenges from image processing to natural language processing. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about learning new technologies and applying state-of-the-art solutions to enhance our platform and product, as well as aiding our users to adopt these new technologies and practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop advanced machine learning models for a wide range of tasks, including computer vision and natural language processing
• Manage the entire machine learning workflow, from data collection and preprocessing to model training, evaluation, and deployment
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, define technical requirements, and design and implement tailored AI solutions
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of methodologies, analyses, and results to ensure transparency and reproducibility
• Contribute to the technical direction of the team and work closely with cross-functional teams to address complex AI challenges

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming language such as C++, C# or Python (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience with machine learning (ML) development, including data processing, model implementation, model evaluation, model optimization and model deployment
• Experience with Computer Vision (e.g. object detection and semantic segmentation)
• Business level proficiency in English
• Business level proficiency in Japanese

NICE TO HAVES

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• Advanced knowledge of deep learning
• Experience with ML workflows and tools, including unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, model tracking, and artifact management
• Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP), including working with large language models (LLM) or vision language models (VLM)
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP
