Advertiser optimization and recommendation team is responsible for setting bidding, budget utilization and recommendation for reddit and advertisers on how to set smart bids, and auction strategy to maximize return on advertiser spend and marketplace efficiency. This team develops and maintains the products, APIs, and infrastructure required to automate advertiser optimizations to maximize ads performance and ROAS with data driven approaches. The team works on building a series of products to automate and enhance advertiser’s planning, buying and campaign optimization experience with Reddit ads, including auto bidding strategies, budget pacing algorithms, creative automation, traffic forecasting, bid recommendation, smart opportunities, diagnostic tools etc. This team owns a critical piece in the ads delivery pipeline and machine learning infrastructure. Some of the project highlights include:

• Driving automation and enhancement of advertiser’s planning, buying and campaign optimization experience with Reddit ads, including auto bidding strategies, budget pacing algorithms, creative automation, traffic forecasting, bid recommendation, smart opportunities, diagnostic tools etc.
• Identify bid and budget upsell opportunities for daily active flights, and give users actionable recommendations for boosting delivery results
• PID controller for pacing the budget throughout the day
• Maximize clicks and conversions while being able to spend through budget without exceeding delivery
• Smart bidding, auto bidding, no bid optimization for advertisers
• Adopting new privacy-centric standards and APIs and leveraging probabilistic attribution solutions to build the next generation of optimization tools

As a Senior machine learning engineer in the Advertiser optimization and recommendations team, you will work on research, formulating, and executing projects, and actively participate in the end-to-end implementation process. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product delivery. You will also have the opportunity to contribute your expertise and shape the future of ads ML at Reddit.

Your Responsibilities:

• Building industrial-level models for critical ML tasks with advanced modeling techniques
• Research, implement, test, and launch new algorithms and make improvements on the existing models
• Systematic feature engineering works to convert all kinds of raw data in Reddit (dense & sparse, behavior & content, etc) into features with various FE technologies such as aggregation, embedding, sub-models, etc.
• Be a team player and work closely with cross-functional members
• Contribute meaningfully to team strategy. We give everyone a seat at the table and encourage active participation in planning for the future

Who You Might Be:

• Tracking records of consistently driving KPI wins through systematic works around model architecture and feature engineering
• 4+ years of experience with industry-level product development
• 4+ years of end-to-end experience of training, evaluating, testing, and deploying industry-level models
• Experience partnering with product managers and designers to build new products is a plus
• Experience with Ads domain is a plus
• Experience with optimization and recommendation systems is a plus

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The base pay range for this position is:

$216,700-$303,400 USD
