We are now looking for a Senior Data Scientist NLP to join our Center of Excellence in Argentina as part of MetLife’s Global Technology team.

The Senior Data Scientist NLP is responsible for extracting meaningful insights and knowledge from vast amounts of textual data. The role involves designing and implementing NLP algorithms and models to understand, interpret, and analyze human language. The person in this role will preprocess and clean textual data, select relevant features, and train models to perform tasks such as sentiment analysis, named entity recognition, topic modeling, and information generation.

This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to address specific business challenges and contribute to decision making processes!
The Senior Data Scientist NLP should stay informed about the latest advancements in NLP research and apply innovative techniques to enhance the performance of language models. Additionally, ensuring the ethical use of NLP technologies, addressing biases, and promoting transparency in model outputs are integral aspects of their responsibilities.

What you will do in this role…

• Lead advanced analytics, machine learning, and research project teams.
• Pilot new approaches to optimize existing business processes.
• Build or manage more complex advanced level statistical and machine learning models.
• Work independently with executives and project stakeholders to gain business understanding, define analytics opportunities, and present project insights.
• Work on tasks across the data science lifecycle by leading large and complex interdepartmental project teams.

To help you succeed, you need…

• Experience working on natural language processing.
• Advanced knowledge of machine learning & feature engineering techniques.
• Expert knowledge of evolving technologies for development, implementation, and deployment.

And it will be a plus if you…

• Academic background in computer science, math, statistics, operations research, social sciences, or related quantitative field preferred.
• Good leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of Generative AI and experience on large language models.
• Advanced knowledge of firm products and insurance industry.
• Problem solver: Remove barriers for the team so they can focus on their tasks at hand.
