Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a passionate Senior Computer Vision Engineer to join our Navigation team. In this key role, you will be part of a cross-functional engineering team , driving the development and deployment of our core technology and products. The ideal candidate has a strong background in robotics, computer vision, deep learning, and 3D perception, with proven experience in software development and technical mentoring. The work model for the role is hybrid. #LI-Hybrid This role is contributing to the Sevensense Robotics Division in Zürich. You will be mainly accountable for: • Developing and optimizing the C++ perception stack, integrating stereo cameras , time-of-flight cameras, ultrasonics, and LiDAR, leveraging sensor fusion and volumetric mapping algorithms. • Implementing and improving stereo vision pipelines with a focus on CPU/GPU acceleration and advanced filtering techniques to maximize performance. • Advancing semantic scene understanding algorithms for robust 3D perception in complex environments, such as people and dynamic object detection and tracking. Designing simulation and evaluation pipelines, while conducting real-world experiments to validate system performance and ensure robustness and generalization. • Overseeing major technical development projects, ensuring effective coordination within the team, technical project managers, and product managers.

Qualifications for the role

• Master’s degree or equivalent in robotics, computer vision, computer science, or a related technical field.
• Strong expertise in computer vision, 3D perception, deep learning, and sensor fusion, with hands-on experience working with multiple sensor modalities.
• 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering for product development, including code development, code reviews, continuous integration (CI), and performance optimization, with proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Proven experience in technical project management, including planning, executing, and monitoring, as well as mentoring and guiding developers.
• Experience with Visual SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), motion planning and control is a plus.
• Fluency in English, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
