Job Description

Our data team has expertise across engineering, analysis, architecture, modeling, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science. This discipline is responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights, building robust data infrastructures, and enabling data-driven decision-making and innovation through advanced analytics and predictive modeling.

The AI Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing AI-enabled applications, ensuring their efficiency, reliability, and alignment with business objectives. This role focuses on developing, deploying, orchestrating, and maintaining AI-powered applications in production environments. The AI Engineer collaborates closely with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and Product teams to operationalize AI capabilities across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

LLM Orchestration & Optimization

• Architect and optimize LLM-enabled applications, ensuring efficient inference and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement caching, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and fine-grained model selection strategies for performance improvements.

Model Deployment & MLOps

• Deploy models into cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and ensure their scalability and monitoring.

AI Infrastructure & Data Pipeline Integration

• Collaborate with Data Engineers to ensure seamless integration of AI models with data pipelines and APIs.
• Leverage industry-standard APIs for invoking Large Language Models (LLMs), such as OpenAI API, AWS Bedrock, or Anthropic Claude.

AI Governance & Compliance

• Ensure AI models comply with regulatory and ethical standards, including GDPR and responsible AI principles.
• Utilize monitoring tools for LLMs, such as LangSmith, to track performance, accuracy, and drift over time.

Collaboration & Cross-functional Engagement

• Work closely with Product Managers and business stakeholders to identify AI-driven opportunities and define success metrics.
• Partner with Software Engineers to integrate AI capabilities into applications and production systems.

Qualifications

Key Skills & Competencies

Technical Foundations

• Programming: Proficiency in Python.
• LLM Orchestration (any of): LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS).
• Cloud & MLOps (any of): AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, GCP Vertex AI, MLflow, Kubeflow.
• Automation & Deployment (any of): Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines.

AI Architecture & Engineering

• Understanding of scalable AI architectures, model serving strategies (REST/gRPC APIs), and distributed model training.

Soft Skills

• Problem Solving: Ability to translate complex AI challenges into practical solutions.
• Communication: Effectively conveys technical AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Works cross-functionally to drive AI adoption and integration across teams.
