We’re hiring a Product Manager to join the Instagram Creators Pillars and to help lead our Creators ML team. The Creator ML team sits within the Instagram Creators Pillar and is a close partner to our Core Surface Ranking team. The person in this role will have a chance to do a blend of ranking PM and product PM work – helping to drive the strategy of some of our biggest bets, such as building a layer on top of our reels surface to show creators inspiring reels that they should mimic. We’re looking for a seasoned PM who has a strong background in ML and ranking, is comfortable framing up product strategy bets, capable of managing complex workstreams with operational rigor, and a strategic thinker who can see the big picture while managing the day-to-day operations. Having some background in creators is a plus – but having a background in a technical space, ranking, and/or ML is required. They also need to be very cross-functional and collaborative because this team partners closely with teams across Instagram.
Product Manager, Creators Machine Learning Responsibilities
- Help lead the Creators ML product team for Instagram
- Be a strong partner to our Core Surface Ranking team and Instagram Creators Pillar partner teams
- Help drive the strategy of some of our biggest creator bets that rely on ML engineering support and influence senior leaders about this strategy
- Ensure on-the-ground execution is on track and meeting a high bar for excellence
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years product management or related industry experience with domain specific expertise in Machine Learning
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field and 2+ years of experience in the following:
- Experience working in a technical environment with a broad, cross functional team to drive product vision, define product requirements, coordinate resources from other groups (design, legal, etc.), and guide the team through key milestones
- Experience delivering technical presentations
- Experience in analyzing complex, large-scale data sets and making decisions based on data
- Experience in gathering requirements across diverse areas and users, and converting and developing them into a product solution
- Displaying leadership, organizational and execution skills
- Proven communication skills
- Experience in building product strategy and ranking/ML
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on creator problems with a ranking focus

$171,000/year to $238,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
