WE ARE LOOKING TO HIRE FOR THREE POSITIONS BELOW:

1. Machine Learning and AI Intern

The Role:
As a Machine Learning and Generative AI Developer Intern, you will have the exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of cutting-edge machine learning and generative artificial intelligence solutions. This internship offers a hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment, providing exposure to real-world projects with Kyndryl clients that leverage advanced algorithms to solve complex problems. You will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining valuable insights into the intersection of machine learning and generative AI.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Algorithm Prototyping: Assist in the design and implementation of machine learning models and generative algorithms for various applications, including but not limited to image generation, natural language processing, and data synthesis.
• Data Preprocessing: Collaborate with the team to preprocess and clean datasets, ensuring they meet the requirements for effective model training and evaluation.
• Model Training and Evaluation: Participate in the training and evaluation of machine learning models, providing support in optimizing parameters and assessing model performance. Work closely with industry SMEs and clients to tune model parameters to achieve desired business outcomes.
• Research Support: Contribute to literature reviews and stay informed about the latest advancements in machine learning and generative AI, providing insights that can enhance project development.
• Code Development: Assist in coding and scripting tasks related to model development, data analysis, and experimentation, following best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborative Projects: Engage in cross-functional collaboration with team members, contributing ideas and solutions to address challenges in ongoing projects.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of code, models, and experimental results, facilitating knowledge transfer and future reference.

Who You Are:

• Programming Languages: Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in machine learning, such as Python or R. Must be aware of Object-oriented Programming concepts.
• Machine Learning Frameworks: Familiarity with popular machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and their application in model development. Knowledge of finetuning open-source Language Models is a plus
• Data Processing: Basic understanding of data preprocessing techniques and data manipulation skills. Knowledge of writing SQL / NOSQL procedures is plus
• Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and contribute innovative ideas to the team.
• Communication: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate ideas, share findings, and collaborate with team members.

2. Application Modernization and Cloud Intern

The Role:
As an Application Modernization and Cloud Intern, you will play a vital role in helping businesses transform their applications for cloud readiness and modern architectures. This internship provides hands-on experience in evaluating, designing, and implementing modernization strategies to migrate applications to cloud platforms. You will work with a dynamic team of experts, gaining exposure to real-world projects that focus on enhancing scalability, performance, and agility through cloud-based solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Application Assessment: Analyze existing applications to assess cloud readiness and identify opportunities for modernization, including refactoring, rehosting, or rebuilding strategies.
• Cloud Migration Planning: Collaborate with team members to design cloud migration strategies, considering performance, cost, and security requirements.
• Development and Modernization: Assist in developing and modernizing applications using cloud-native technologies, such as microservices, containers, and serverless architectures.
• Cloud Infrastructure Integration: Participate in setting up and configuring cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to host modernized applications effectively.
• DevOps Practices: Work with DevOps pipelines to streamline application deployment and improve the development lifecycle using tools like CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and monitoring platforms.
• Research and Innovation: Stay updated on the latest trends in cloud computing and application modernization, contributing innovative ideas to team discussions.
• Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain clear documentation for processes, architectural decisions, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing.

Who You Are:

• Programming Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#. Knowledge of cloud development frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, .NET Core) is a plus.
• Cloud Platforms: Basic understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Familiarity with services such as Kubernetes, Docker, and serverless computing is advantageous.
• Application Architecture: Knowledge of application architectures, including monolithic, microservices, and event-driven systems. Awareness of design patterns and best practices in cloud-native development is beneficial.
• Database Management: Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases. Familiarity with cloud-based database services is a plus.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex applications and recommend effective modernization strategies.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills to present ideas, findings, and solutions clearly and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Agility and Collaboration: Ability to adapt quickly to new tools, technologies, and workflows while collaborating in a fast-paced environment.

3. High Performance Compute for NextGen AI Intern

The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our Data Centre team for an 8 month internship. This is an excellent opportunity for a student who is currently enrolled in a University or College program in information technology, computer science, or a related field, and is looking for a co-op position to gain valuable experience and contribute to our organization.

As a High Performance Compute for NextGen AI Intern, you will be part of a team at the forefront of protecting Kyndryl’s customers’ computer systems and networks with advanced analytics capabilities for data centre and IT operations, providing data-driven insights for improving operational sustainability. Descriptive and diagnostic analytics provide data exploration, anomaly detection, business intelligence, and visualization to provide insights into past and current data center operations. Advanced predictive analytics techniques use machine learning (ML) algorithms to uncover near-real-time insights and forecast and predict future events. AI models for prescriptive analytics provide simulations and recommendations for optimal actions to achieve sustainability goals. But that’s not all – at Kyndryl, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the implementation of new sustainability systems of our customers’ data centres. Not only will you be responsible for helping to enable an ESG approach to Kyndryl’s customers’ data centres, but you will also enrich the organization’s knowledge towards potential sustainability and best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Work on projects and tasks assigned by the data Centre team
• Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas and suggestions
• Learn and apply new skills and knowledge to complete tasks
• Assist in conducting assessments of existing sustainability measures and protocols
• Help identify vulnerabilities, risks, and weaknesses in the infrastructure and operations
• Help configure and implement Sustainability Advisor
• Complete all tasks and projects within the given timeframe

Who You Are

• Enrolled in a Computer Science, Management Information Technology or Computer Engineering program or related field with an interest in a Cybersecurity field
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations

4. Application Developer

The Role:

As an Application Developer, you will play a pivotal role in creating innovative and impactful applications to generate insights that will enable Kyndryl to streamline internal processes, automate tasks, and support data-driven decision making.

• Collaborate with cross-functional business and technical teams to design and develop low-code or custom applications and integrations.
• Apply software development best practices
• Implement application lifecycle management post-deployment
• Establish and maintain application development and production environments
• Implement policies to safeguard access, data integrity and compliance
• Create scripts or workflows to automate routine operational tasks
• Develop and share reusable assets, templates, and documentation
• Create end user documentation, demos and FAQs
• Define support processes to drive user adoption
• Work with established IT support teams to address technical queries and incidents

Who You Are:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Engineering or Computer Science or related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Power Platform tools (PowerApps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Power BI).
• Experience with software development, business analytics and data integration.
• Strong communication, problem solving and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated with strong organizational skills.

Who You Are

To be qualified for these interns, you must be currently enrolled in a Canadian Post-Secondary Institution ideally as a 3rd year student and eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship. Also, these positions are hybrid and require to work from the office at least 2-3 times a week.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell.
• Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Previous co-op or internship experience in a technical role.
