Lead AI/LLM Engineer Full-time

Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement solutions that structure medical data efficiently.
• Develop and fine-tune deep learning models, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs), for the medical domain.
• Collaborate with other team members as well as healthcare professionals to understand their needs, translate them into technical requirements and evaluate feasibility of solutions.
• Lead the evaluation and adoption of new technologies and methodologies from the domain of AI, machine learning and NLP.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members.
• Communicate complex technical details in an understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders.
• Adhere to ethical AI practices and data privacy regulations.
• Gain understanding of medical terminologies and clinical data models.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with a focus on NLP and machine learning
• Proficiency in Python with experience using key Python packages for data wrangling, machine learning and deep learning such as pandas, sklearn, TensorFlow, torch, transformers, LangChain, Huggingface, AutoGen etc.
• Experience with deep learning models, especially Large Language Models, including fine-tuning, RAG, function calling, implementation and optimization of models like GPT-4, BERT, LLaMA etc.
• Strong experience working with machine learning and natural language processing techniques and tools.
• Professional experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• Ability to drive a project and work both independently and within a cross-functional team.

Additional:

• Hands-on experience working with standard medical terminologies like SNOMED, LOINC, RxNorm
• Hands-on experience with clinical data models and using NLP to explore EHR records
• Experience in Prompt Engineering and few-shot techniques to enhance LLM’s performance on specific tasks.
• Understanding of deep learning model classes such as GPT, VAE, and GANs.
• Experience with OCR and understanding of its application in document analysis and recognition
• Experience with AWS Cloud Services, specifically related to machine learning (SageMaker, Bedrock, Comprehend, Lex, Textract, etc.).
• M.Sc. or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent degree
