We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of AI Engineering for Generative AI-powered Applications. As part of BMW Group IT, our team is responsible for bringing the latest Data Science & Generative AI technologies to the BMW Group. With our expertise, we are exploring new areas of application for Data Science & Generative AI, and we are developing industrial use cases in all divisions of the BMW Group. This includes not only business applications, but also applications leveraging the potential of Generative AI in our IT processes. We also contribute new features and tools to our central AI platform.

What awaits you?

• During your internship, you will work on the development and industrialization of Generative AI-powered applications for querying structured databases and optimizing cloud accounts.
• You will work on exploring and implementing the latest Large Language Model (LLM)-related algorithms and techniques for optimizing the applications. Knowledge of cloud services will be extremely beneficial.
• Furthermore, you will be part of a professional, experienced, and international AI team.
• You will get to work on LLM-powered applications for IT and business use cases.
• In addition you will help to develop further features for these applications and explore new algorithms to optimize business-relevant metrics for these applications.
• To research and keep up to date on the latest developments in the Generative AI space will be also part of your role.
• You will implement the relevant techniques in the context of the applications you are working on.

What should you bring along?

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s / master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related technical field.
• Coding experience in Python mandatory, experience with frontend engineering frameworks such as Angular would be advantageous.
• Experience with LLM frameworks such as Langchain and Langgraph is highly desired.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases will be beneficial.
• Preferably experience with Amazon Web Services.
• Software engineering experience from previous work experience, coding competitions, or projects.
• Ability to speak and write in English fluently.
