Thesis Subject Title:
School Inclusion and Inter-Institutional Work: a Transformative Research Perspective
Job Description:
The Institute of Educational Sciences (ISE) of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is driven by the desire to develop the sciences of education and training through educational innovation, research, improvement of teaching-learning and continuing professional development.
Our institute thus wishes to contribute to the mission of excellence and public utility of the UM6P, by setting up research/training-action projects in Moroccan and African territory. To do this, we rely on a solid team as well as local and international strategic alliances with renowned universities and researchers.
The field of research “Education Governance” focuses on the study of the structures, processes, and mechanisms by which educational institutions are directed, controlled, and administered. This field explores various aspects, such as educational policies, organizational structures, stakeholder participation and involvement, equity and inclusion, educational leadership, and financing and resources.
The research field of “Ethics and school inclusion” focuses on studying ethical principles and practices aimed at ensuring an inclusive and equitable education for all students, regardless of their differences. The objective of this research domain is to promote an ethical, inclusive, and equitable education that meets the needs and rights of all learners, while promoting respect, diversity, and social justice within schools and educational systems.
The inclusion of students with disabilities is a major challenge in Morocco, as it is in other countries around the world. The laws and regulations in favor of the integration of students with disabilities advocate an ideal of equality that comes up against numerous obstacles. Recent international research on these issues points to the need for support work that brings together institutions usually working separately in the disability sector. This inter-institutional work poses many problems for professionals and involves major organizational and cultural transformations in each of the institutions. In this sense, Daniels (2005) and Bal et al. (2020) advocate forms of research-intervention oriented towards organizational development.
