The Institute of Educational Sciences (ISE) of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is driven by the desire to develop the sciences of education and training through educational innovation, research, improvement of teaching-learning and continuing professional development.
Our institute thus wishes to contribute to the mission of excellence and public utility of the UM6P, by setting up research/training-action projects in Moroccan and African territory. To do this, we rely on a solid team as well as local and international strategic alliances with renowned universities and researchers.
The field of research “Education Governance” focuses on the study of the structures, processes, and mechanisms by which educational institutions are directed, controlled, and administered. This field explores various aspects, such as educational policies, organizational structures, stakeholder participation and involvement, equity and inclusion, educational leadership, and financing and resources.
Educational governance, both in Morocco and globally, necessitates a profound understanding of the factors driving educational transformation. Specialization in education governance invites research proposals aimed at understanding education as a multi-level and multi-stakeholder governance system. This encompasses an examination of educational leadership and policymaking across all stages of the policy cycle, including agenda setting, policy formulation, decision-making, and policy implementation. This includes a focus on the allocation and management of resources to support educational institutions, programs, and initiatives, strategic planning, and budgeting. Topics can focus on pre-K to12, vocational, or higher education as well as adult education in a lifelong learning framework. Research proposals examining how educational governance addresses 21st-century challenges such as sustainability, critical thinking, digital literacy, equity, and inclusion are of interest.
