Head of AI & Data Full-time

Job Description

Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of AI and Data Engineering to lead our data engineering team. In this role, you will drive AI and Data to help transform Chubb Life products, customer experience and internal operations.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand client requirements, design robust data engineering architectures, and manage the successful implementation of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional leadership abilities, and a proven track record in delivering complex AI and data engineering projects.

*Role can be based in Hong Kong or Singapore.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Chief Transformation Officer to develop and execute a comprehensive AI & Data strategy and align AI initiatives with transformation goals
• Lead and manage a high-performing data engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, technical expertise, whilst driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, data scientists and software engineers to create AI powered solutions, that deliver measurable business value across all elements of the Life Insurance value chain
• Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery within agreed parameters
• Establish robust data foundations and governance that enable the rapid deployment of transformative AI solutions
• Establish MLOps practices for efficient development, deployment, and monitoring of AI models
• Champion responsible AI adoption ensuring fairness, ethics, and transparency in all AI solutions and ensure they are complaint with regulations
• Lead education and change management initiatives to drive AI adoption across the organization
• Remain current with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering, data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of experience in AI, data science, and engineering roles with significant leadership experience
• Education in Computer Science, Statistics and Management is required for this role
• Deep expertise in modern AI/ML technologies, particularly generative AI, LLMs, and their enterprise applications
• Strong track record of building and scaling data platforms and AI solutions in regulated industries
• Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their AI/ML services
• Comprehensive understanding of data governance, security, and regulatory requirements in financial services
• Proven ability to translate technical capabilities into business value and communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Experience in insurance or related financial services preferred.
