AI chatbots are terrible at Accounting & Tax – which is why Outlier needs Remote Freelance Accounting Experts like you.

As a Remote Freelance Accounting Expert, you’ll be in a new role working on the Outlier platform to rate, review, and rewrite accounting responses generated by AI chatbots. In doing so, you teach and train the AI models to be better at Accounting & Tax-related questions.

This is a flexible, set-your-own-schedule, fully remote role with no minimum required hours a week. Many Experts work on Outlier alongside their day jobs or in their spare time.

Earnings:

• Hourly rate: up to $30 per hour USD, depending on your level of expertise

Responsibilities:

• Train AI models by creating and answering questions related to your field
• Evaluate and rank responses generated by AI
• Leverage your domain expertise to assess the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models

Qualifications:

• Minimum: Junior or Senior undergraduates enrolled in a accounting or related program
• Preferred: Graduate student, Masters, or equivalent proficiency in Accounting & Tax or a related-field
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to spot errors or inconsistencies in writing
• Able to verify educational & professional Information via our partner, Checkr

Nice to Have:

• Professional writing experience as a researcher, journalist, technical writer, editor, or similar roles
• Solid subject matter knowledge in other Accounting subfields
• Interest in AI and machine learning concepts

Additional Note:

This is a freelance position that is paid on a per-hour basis. We don’t offer internships as this is a freelance role. You also must be authorized to work in your country of residence, and we will not be providing sponsorship since this is a 1099 contract opportunity. However, if you are an international student, you may be able to sign up if you are on a visa. You should contact your tax/immigration advisor with specific questions regarding your circumstances. We are unable to provide any documentation supporting employment at this time. Please be advised that compensation rates may differ for non-US locations.

Base pay is determined by multiple factors, including the area of expertise, years of experience, and skillset needed for the project. Pay rates vary during the project lifecycle. For example, rates for onboarding are lower.
