Our India-based AI delivery hub is a dynamic team at the forefront of technological innovation. This is an important part of the Global Advanced Analytics team that develops bespoke AI/ML software solutions for clients across the globe. WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a member of the growing AAG Engineering team in Bain’s Advanced Analytics Group, you will:

• Lead a team of engineers in an India offshore center focused on developing AI and analytics products for clients.
• Over the next year, build a team of approximately 40 engineers, support the hiring of the team and lead the development and operation of the team.
• Support global clients in developing AI and analytics products (~70% focus) and participate in work for global clients.
• Work with general consulting and engineering teams, particularly in North America (~50%+).
• Develop AI and analytics software products for clients, taking on the development of entire products or discrete components.
• Support development at different points of the product lifecycle: Proof of Concept (PoC), Minimum Viable Product (MVP), and launch to production.
• Support Bain’s Industry Practices in developing client solutions and accelerators (~30% focus).
• Lead the team to develop and own select solutions and accelerators for clients.
• Provide maintenance and support to these products as necessary.
• Help sell the capabilities of our offshore engineering capability to clients.
• Where necessary, engage directly with clients to understand requirements, solve problems, and describe solutions.
• Manage an engineering team encompassing a mix of engineering disciplines:

Product management, AI/ML/back-end engineering, Front-end engineering, Data engineering, Infrastructure/QA/operations engineering

• Ensure the team operates across multiple frameworks and technologies to meet client needs.
• Travel is required (30%)

ABOUT YOU

• Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, etc.
• 12+ years minumim experience in managing engineering Hub’s.
• 12+ years of software engineering, analytics development or machine learning engineering experience
• 5+ years of experience managing data scientists and ML engineers
• Strong understanding of fundamental computer science concepts, software design best practices, software development lifecycle and common machine learning design patterns
• Solid understanding of foundational machine learning concepts and algorithms
• Broad experience deploying production-grade machine learning solutions on-premise or in the cloud
• Expert knowledge of Python programming and machine learning frameworks (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, etc.)
• Experience implementing ML automation, MLOps (scalable development to deployment of complex data science workflows) and associated tools (e.g. MLflow, Kubeflow)
• Experience working in accordance with DevSecOps principles, and familiarity with industry deployment best practices using CI/CD tools, MLOps, LLMOps and infrastructure as code (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform)
• Deep experience with additional server-side frameworks and technologies such as FastAPI, Node.js, Flask
• Extensive experience with Cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) and associated machine learning services, e.g. Amazon SageMaker, Azure ML, Databricks
• Understanding of data security and privacy regulations, key topics in cybersecurity, authentication and authorization mechanisms (including cloud IAM)
• Familiarity with Agile software development practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain and discuss machine learning concepts with colleagues and clients
• Ability to collaborate with people at all levels and with multi-office/region teams
• Ability to work without supervision and juggle priorities to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, while also collaborating as part of a team in complex situations
