Engineering Manager, AI Overviews on Search Full-time

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C , Java, JavaScript).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
• Experience in leading a team that takes experimental systems from a prototype stage to a working product.
• Experience managing a team owning problems and developing technical leads.
• Experience working on Machine Learning, Generative-AI, and Information Retrieval problems.
• Experience working across the stack (e.g., front-end, serving back-ends, data pipelines, etc.).

• Manage a team of SWEs and offer clarity with planning, design, execution, mentor/guide the team-members with feedback and help them grow in their career.
• Take responsibility for engineering and organizational problems that span multiple teams/components and systematically lead the team to solve them.
• Collaborate across multiple teams and functions, driving alignment, prioritization, execution, decisions.
• Utilize knowledge of areas like LLMs, Information Retrieval, Search Infrastructure, Search Features.
