Director of Data & AI Full-time

Job Description

On behalf of my client based in Cork I’m looking for a Director of Data and AI to lead their data strategy and AI initiatives. This role involves overseeing data analytics and AI projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute data and AI strategies, drive innovation, and foster a data-driven culture.
• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, engineers, and AI specialists.
• Manage AI and data projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
• Enforce data quality, privacy, and security policies.
• Communicate strategies and insights to senior management and stakeholders.
• Define KPIs and monitor project outcomes and system performance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s/PhD preferred).

Experience:

• Proven track record in leading and delivering data-centric projects.
• Skilled in influencing senior stakeholders and offering top-tier advice based on industry best practices.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Demonstrated clear and articulate communication skills with a collaborative approach.
• Experience in leading and motivating teams to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Commercial experience in a leadership role.
• Basic knowledge or exposure to machine learning, data mining, data visualization, and AI techniques.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or Java; machine learning frameworks; data visualization tools; and big data technologies.
