Qualcomm AI Research is looking for world-class software engineers with experience in machine learning and deep learning. Come join a high-caliber team of engineers building advanced machine learning technology, on-device AI solutions, and user-friendly model optimization tools such as Qualcomm Innovation Center’s AI Model Efficiency Toolkit (https://github.com/quic/aimet). We enable state-of-the-art networks to run on devices with limited power, memory, and computation.

Your responsibility will be to work closely with hardware teams for joint design and development of machine learning kernels, compiler tools, or model efficiency tools, to make sure of specific hardware features. In addition, you will be working closely with system teams and MLE teams to apply various quantization techniques to models and evaluate the accuracy and latency both in simulation and on-device.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields.
• 2+ years of experience with Machine Learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras).
• 2+ years of experience in embedded system development and optimization with application to a specific problem domain in ML (e.g., NLP, multi-media).
• 2+ years of experience with one or more programming languages suitable for machine learning (e.g., Python, R, C, C++)
• 2+ years of experience using statistics and probability (e.g., conditional probability, Bayes rule).
• 1+ years of experience with low level interactions between operating systems (e.g., Linux, Android, QNX) and Hardware.
• 1+ years of experience with NVIDIA software library such as CUDA
• 2+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
• 1+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director and above).

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
