We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Data Science and Machine Learning Intern to join our team. In this internship role, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in geospatial and remote sensing data analysis, as well as machine learning techniques in associated projects, while working alongside experienced professionals in the field.

As a Data Science and Machine Learning Intern with geospatial and remote sensing capabilities, you will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to projects that involve analyzing geospatial and remote sensing data using machine learning techniques. This internship will provide valuable experience in the field and help you develop skills in geospatial data analysis, remote sensing, and machine learning.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the analysis of geospatial and remote sensing data, including multi-spectral, hyper-spectral, InSAR, and LiDAR data.
• Support the development and implementation of machine learning models for geospatial and remote sensing applications, such as land cover classification or change detection.
• Assist in processing and organizing geospatial and remote sensing data, ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Learn and utilize remote sensing tools and software for basic image analysis tasks.
• Collaborate with team members to contribute to geospatial and remote sensing projects, providing support in data processing and analysis.
• Assist in maintaining and updating spatial databases to efficiently store and manage geospatial data.
• Gain exposure to coding skills and assist in developing scripts for basic geospatial data processing tasks.
• Learn about cloud platforms and their applications in geospatial and remote sensing data analysis.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Geospatial Science, Remote Sensing, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding of geospatial and remote sensing data concepts, techniques, formats and tools such as GIS.
• Interest in learning and applying machine learning techniques to geospatial and remote sensing data.
• Basic coding skills, preferably in Python, with a willingness to learn and improve coding abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle and analyze geospatial and remote sensing data accurately.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to remote sensing tools and software, such as ENVI, ERDAS Imagine, or ArcGIS.
• Basic understanding of spatial databases and their management.
• Interest in cloud platforms and their applications in geospatial and remote sensing data analysis.
