Co-op Assistant Researcher – Computer Vision & Machine Learning Full-time

Huawei Canada has an immediate 8/12/16-month Co-op opening for an Assistant Researcher.

Founded in 2012, the Noah’s Ark lab has evolved into a prominent research organization with notable achievements in academia and industry. The lab’s mission focuses on advancing artificial intelligence and related fields to benefit the company and society. Driven by impactful, long-term projects, the aim is to enhance state-of-the-art research while integrating innovations into the company’s products and services, including LLMs, RL, NLP, computer vision, AI theory, and Autonomous driving.

About the job:

• Work with autonomous driving datasets to develop models and tools for AD research.
• Implement, test, and deploy machine learning and deep learning models using Python.
• Study relevant academic research and apply findings to practical AD challenges.
• Collaborate with researchers and cross-functional teams, actively contributing to discussions and development efforts.

About the ideal candidate:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Robotics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Experience working with Linux.
• Solid understanding of mathematics, optimization, computer vision, and machine learning.
• Experience in one or more areas, such as reinforcement learning, imitation learning, computer vision, generative AI, robotics, or state estimation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
