1. Introduction

The growing complexity and demand for high-speed, reliable communication networks necessitate innovative approaches to optimize performance and efficiency. Traditional methods often struggle to adapt to the dynamic nature of modern communication systems. Machine learning (ML) offers powerful tools for enhancing various aspects of communication networks, including resource allocation, error correction, and signal processing. This Ph.D. proposal aims to explore the application of machine learning techniques to improve communication systems, focusing on increasing network efficiency, reliability, and adaptability.

2. Research Objectives

The primary objectives of this research are:

1. To develop machine learning algorithms for optimizing resource allocation in communication networks.
2. To design ML-based techniques for enhancing error correction and signal processing.
3. To evaluate the performance, efficiency, and scalability of the proposed machine learning solutions.
4. To conduct simulations and case studies to validate the practical applicability of the developed algorithms in real-world communication systems.

3. PhD Candidate Profile
• An MSc in computer science or equivalent, or a related field
• Very good programming skills (e.g., C, C++, Python)
• Professional command of English and good presentation skills
• Publications will be regarded as a plus but not required.
