C++ Software Engineer for Computer Vision Full-time

At APTIV, we design, develop, and validate systems to improve safety and comfort in vehicles. This includes the development of innovative computer vision features and machine learning algorithms for interior and exterior cameras. Examples of features are vehicle and pedestrian detection, lane detection, traffic sign and traffic light recognition, driver drowsiness sensing, seat occupancy monitoring, child presence detection, and hand gesture recognition.

In this fast growing and innovative technology area, you would be working in an international team of computer vision and machine learning experts to shape the future of mobility with us.

Your Role:

• Developing advanced computer vision algorithms for automotive interior (in-cabin) or exterior cameras
• Creating algorithm prototypes in Python
• Writing high quality, tested and efficient algorithms in C++ for our embedded AI/ML SW stack
• Filing patent applications to strengthen the APTIV IP footprint
• Working in an agile SW development team

Your Background:

• Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field
• Strong software development skills in C++ and/or Python
• Passion for clean, well-tested, and documented code
• Motivated learner
• Fluent in English
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills & good interpersonal skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional team

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of classical computer vision algorithms
• Knowledge of machine learning/artificial intelligence, model building and evaluation
• Knowledge of common ML frameworks (Tensorflow, Keras, PyTorch, fast.ai)
• Knowledge of camera calibration
• Practical experience with Linux, version control systems (Git), build systems (Make, CMake) and code review tools (Gerrit, Gitlab, Bitbucket)
