ARPA-H AI/Data Science Advisor Full-time

ECS is seeking talented and driven professionals to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). In this role, you will serve as a scientific and technical advisor to ARPA-H-enabling the agency to manage and provide oversight to advanced R&D efforts; help shape future R&D concepts, programs, and solutions; integrate and advance our nation’s healthcare ecosystem processes, policies, and enabling technologies; and enable the agency to expand its healthcare and scientific scope into yet unknown areas. As an AI and Data Science advisor, you will provide support and thought leadership to R&D performer teams, Government Program Managers, and stakeholders across the health innovation ecosystem. This role supports the Office of Information Technology and Data Innovation (ITDI).

What you will do:

Serve as AI and Data Science Expert:

• Advise senior leadership and stakeholders on data strategy and innovative approaches to leveraging data science across agency program, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Lead project management for data innovation initiatives, providing evaluation, assessment, and technical expertise to enhance program development, support data analysis efforts, and drive cross-agency collaboration.

Analyze and interpret complex data:

• Analyze and interpret complex internal and programmatic data to uncover actionable insights, informing ARPA-H leadership on opportunities to enhance agency-wide data strategy and innovation initiatives.
• Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to evaluate data innovation projects, supporting program development and optimizing cross-agency data utilization efforts.

Advise Business Development and Strategic Implementation:

• Advise on the design and execution of business development strategies, incorporating effective capture processes to identify and secure opportunities that align with ARPA-H’s data innovation objectives.

Stay current with scientific advancements:

• Actively track and analyze new research findings in this field.
• Identify and propose emerging methodologies and technologies that could enhance the program’s progress.
• Participate in scientific discussions and presentations, contributing your expertise to the program’s overall knowledge base.

Collaborate effectively within a diverse team:

• Build strong relationships with computational scientists, engineers, and other scientific advisors involved in the program.
• Communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and problem-solving exercises to drive the program forward.

Salary Range: $100,000 – $180,000
