Why this role?

Cohere For AI (C4AI) is the dedicated research arm of Cohere, and our mission is to make progress on fundamental problems in Machine learning. Our mandate is to imagine the next generation of AI models and to work at the frontier of what is possible. We are a hybrid lab, with both full-time research and engineering staff in addition to an open science initiative that supports collaborative research across institutions and paths of access for independent researchers.

In this role, you will re-imagine the way humans interact with AI technology. Embedded on a research team, you will work on a full-stack project using the open code project Cohere toolkit to build in inference time features to improve algorithmic performance in real time.

This requires you to be nimble, passionate and talented about front-end development, feature development and also deeply curious about how we design the user interface of the future. You will work closely with leading researchers in AI and gain critical experience in designing interfaces that take advantage of inference time compute.

Please note: This is a 6-month scholars position, with a possibility for extension.

As an Algorithm Interface Scholar, you will:

• Ship delightful experiences for Cohere toolkit, meticulously and quickly crafting code for browser features
• Own and build robust services-oriented web experiences, our stack includes: Python and Next.js
• Keep up with the cutting edge and adopt new technologies to improve performance and reliability
