We are looking for an experienced machine learning expert who is excited to work at the intersection of cutting-edge innovation and world-class products. As part of the Siri Understanding team, you will help invent the next phase in conversational assistant technology. This is a rare opportunity to transform the experience of hundreds of millions of Siri users across the world.

Key Qualifications
Scientific understanding and practical experience with the state of the art in machine learning, including foundation models; knowledge of natural language understanding is desirable
Strong Python programming, debugging, and design skills
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
Ability to produce creative and innovative solutions to challenging problems
Enthusiasm for building great user experiences using machine learning

Description
Your core responsibility will be to drive new technical directions for Siri’s language understanding abilities. As a technical leader you will help shape our understanding of what’s possible and influence the development roadmap over the short and long term. You will engage with the state of the art in machine learning, natural language understanding and foundation models. You will identify opportunities, run experiments, build prototypes and partner with a broad team of ML and software engineers to help your ideas become reality.

Education & Experience
MSc or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent proven experience.
