We have an excellent opportunity for an AI Scientist to join our Video Intelligence Engineering team. focuses on building large scale platform for video surveillance and analytics for both government and enterprise sectors. We have access to an advanced video platform, large amounts of exclusive data and deploys VA solutions to thousands of cameras in different countries.

This position aims to explore and develop the generative AI solution, particularly Visual Language Models and relevant agentic solutions, for Video Analytics to bring the power of AI to cameras across Singapore and beyond. Supported by our engineering and data teams, the scientists have freedom to conduct their research and explore state-of-the-art technologies to tackle challenging real-world problems. Furthermore, they will help to widen connections with research community through collaborations with universities and research institutes as well as participating in international competitions and conferences.

Role Profile:
As an AI Scientist, you will conduct research and experiments to explore, customize, and enhance AI models and agentic solutions to showcase and deliver NCS AI capabilities to our customers. You will collaborate with Engineering team, Data team, and Sales team to develop, demonstrate in Proof-of-Concepts, and integrate the models to production systems. Additionally, you will participate in the team’s innovation sharing and networking to stay ahead of the AI technological advancement.

What will you do?

• Conduct in-depth research and develop novel deep learning models to address challenging video analytics problems, such as camouflage person detection, fine-grained object recognition, and dense crowd counting.
• Explore, customize, and enhance state-of-the-art Generative AI models (e.g., Large Language Models (LLMs), Vision Language Models (VLMs) for innovative video analytics applications, such as video captioning and activity recognition.
• Explore, customize, and develop agentic solutions for video analytics specifically, and security applications in general.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Collaborate and work closely with our Data and Engineering teams to efficiently develop, seamlessly integrate, and reliably deploy AI models into production systems.
• Assist the Sales team in demonstrating developed technologies and preparing technical specifications for tenders.

Innovation Advancement:

• Propose directions and anticipate in discussions to shape the future of the company’s core technologies.
• External collaborations in deeper research with universities and research institutes.

Key Challenges:

• Deeply understand pros and cons of state-of-the-art machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI models and algorithms.
• Achieve required accuracy and performance within hardware limitations.
• Develop algorithms for large-scale model serving.
• Continuously identify and study latest trends of AI algorithms and technologies as well as video analytics.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• At least one-year of experience in computer vision projects or video analytics-related industry.
• Robust knowledge in machine learning, neural network, deep learning, and generative AI technologies to be able to study, utilize and customize them.
• Experience and possess fundamental understandings about deep learning and transformer architectures.
• Good foundation knowledge of learning algorithms such as Supervised finetuning (SFT), Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF), etc.
• Knowledge about model quantization and performance optimization.
• Experience with at least one deep learning framework such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python, C/C++, etc.
• Self-motivated with strong passions in video analytics or deep learning and generative AI in general.
• Good interpersonal skills with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Milestone awareness.
• Master or Ph.D. degree in computer science or related technical field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be appreciated
