AI Prompt Engineer (The AI Interaction Designer) Full-time

We’re looking for an AI Prompt Engineer (aka The AI Interaction Designer) to design, test, and refine prompts that enhance our AI models’ understanding and performance.

As an AI Prompt Engineer at our client, you’ll be at the forefront of developing the interactions between humans and AI systems. You’ll work closely with AI researchers, product managers, and UX designers to create prompts that ensure AI outputs are accurate, relevant, and useful. Your work will be critical in improving the user experience of our AI products, making them more effective and intuitive.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Develop AI Prompts:
• Craft and refine prompts that guide AI models to generate desired outputs. You’ll experiment with different phrasings, structures, and techniques to optimize AI performance across various tasks, such as natural language understanding, text generation, and question answering.
2. Collaborate on Model Training:
• Work closely with AI researchers and data scientists to incorporate prompts into model training and fine-tuning processes. You’ll ensure that prompts are aligned with model objectives and contribute to improving the model’s accuracy and relevance.
3. Test and Evaluate Prompt Effectiveness:
• Conduct extensive testing and evaluation of AI model outputs based on different prompts. You’ll analyze the results, identify patterns, and refine prompts to enhance the model’s understanding and response quality.
4. User Interaction Design:
• Collaborate with UX designers and product teams to create natural, intuitive user interactions with AI systems. You’ll help design conversational flows and dialogue systems that make interacting with AI seamless and user-friendly.
5. Analyze and Optimize User Feedback:
• Collect and analyze user feedback to identify areas where prompts and AI interactions can be improved. You’ll iterate on prompts and conversational designs to better meet user needs and expectations.
6. Documentation and Best Practices:
• Create comprehensive documentation for prompt design and usage, establishing best practices and guidelines for prompt engineering across projects. You’ll educate and train team members on effective prompt crafting techniques.
7. Stay Updated on Advances in AI Language Models:
• Keep abreast of the latest developments in AI language models and prompt engineering techniques. You’ll experiment with new approaches and integrate advancements to continuously improve AI interactions.

Requirements

Required Skills:

• Prompt Engineering Expertise: Proven experience crafting effective prompts for AI language models, such as GPT or similar large-scale models. You understand how prompt structure influences AI outputs.
• Natural Language Processing (NLP) Knowledge: Solid understanding of how language models work, including their strengths and limitations. You have experience working with NLP techniques and tools to improve AI’s understanding of human language.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities to evaluate the quality of AI responses, identify patterns, and adjust prompts for better outcomes. You enjoy iterating and testing different approaches.
• Collaboration and Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with AI researchers, UX designers, and product teams. You can explain technical concepts and engage with non-technical stakeholders.
• User-Centric Approach: Focus on optimizing AI interactions from a user perspective, ensuring that the models provide helpful, accurate, and relevant responses that meet business and user goals.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Linguistics, Cognitive Science, AI, or a related field. Equivalent experience in AI prompt engineering, conversational AI, or NLP may also be considered.
• Certifications or coursework in AI, machine learning, or NLP are advantageous.

Experience Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience working with AI models, NLP, or conversational AI, with hands-on experience designing prompts for AI systems.
• Proven track record of improving AI model outputs through prompt engineering, with experience optimizing prompts for various use cases (e.g., chatbots, content generation, customer service).
• Experience with AI frameworks such as OpenAI GPT, Hugging Face, or other large language models is highly desirable.
