As a AI Engineer (R&D Engineer II), you will work on impactful projects supporting our Digital Twin Team, with a special focus on investigating and developing novel functionalities for hybrid AI methods. These projects involve extending existing simulation and AI capabilities, developing new methods and features, supporting DevOps for Digital Twin products, and testing and documenting new features.

This position is based in the Ann Arbor, MI Ansys office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in development and testing of solutions for efficient Digital Twin creation, simulation, validation, and deployment.
• Participate in research and development of hybrid AI models for Digital Twins
• Contribute to the design and implementation of comprehensive, user-friendly software systems.
• Participate in developing quality UX features for Hybrid Digital Twin creation and usage

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field, and 2 years of experience.
• Technical knowledge and commercial experience with Python, AI packages like TensorFlow or PyTorch, scripting languages, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience in developing AI/ML models for various use cases.
• Programming experience in Python, with exposure to either Julia or C++.
• Familiarity with automation testing scripts using Python.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a tenacious approach to challenges.
• A collaborative team player who is responsible and self-motivated.
• MUST BE LOCATED NEAR OR WILLING TO RELOCATE TO ANSYS OFFICE IN ANN ARBOR, MI / HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MS Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency with Bayesian statistical methods for calibration, uncertainty quantification, and surrogate modeling.
• Proficiency with the Julia programming language and the SciML ecosystem of packages.
• Experience with hybrid modeling techniques for Digital Twins.
• Knowledge of numerical methods. For example, numerical integration, differential equations, and algebraic equations.
• Knowledge of systems theory e.g. control systems, system dynamics, and state-space models and basic simulation principles.
• Basic knowledge of modern web development and frameworks such as Vue.js, React, or Angular.
• Basic knowledge of software testing concepts such as unit testing and black-box testing.
